Job Description
A "Legal Assistant - Floater" position involves providing flexible administrative and clerical support to lawyers across different practice areas within a law firm, primarily by filling in for other legal assistants during absences due to vacation, sick leave, or other reasons, requiring the ability to quickly adapt to various legal matters and client needs across different departments.
Legal Assistant - Floater
Pay Rate: $65 000-75 000
Our client is a leading mid-sized law firm with offices around the
tri-state and Florida.
They are currently seeking a Floating Legal Assistant with
5+ years of experience working for a law firm with a generalist background. This role is hybrid.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist attorneys with client communication, creating, formatting and revising legal documents, straight typing and proofreading work for accuracy.
- Use of Firm Macros.
- Pleading Preparation.
- Conversion of Documents from PDF to Word.
- Winscribe Transcription.
- Knowledge of Kofax PDF Functions.
- Scan and e-mail documents.
- Enter attorney time using iTimekeep.
- Submitting expense and reimbursement reports using Chrome River.
- Electronic filing of court documents using the NYSCEF and CM/ECF platforms.
- Schedule zoom meetings and conferences.
- Submit vendor invoices for payment.
- Demonstrate an attitude of cooperation with legal staff, peers, and administrators.
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS:
- Applicants must have 5+ years of law firm experience.
- Background should be from a generalist perspective - can come from multiple verticals within the law firm space
- Candidates must be able to type 55+ wpm and have excellent spelling,
grammar and organizational skills, as well as the ability to
multi-task and work both independently and as a team member.
- Candidate will also provide attorneys with administrative support.

Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm
