A role that was created to assist new graduates in transitioning to bedside nursing and serves as a resource or “helping hand” for staff nurses to allow them more one on one time with their more acute patients.
Education Resource Specialist - RN, Abdominal (Kidney) Transplant (TMC)
Are you passionate about advancing education and excellence in abdominal transplantation? We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Education Resource Specialist to join our Abdominal Transplant Unit.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver educational programs for all aspects of the abdominal transplant program, including outpatient, transplant ICU, and acute care settings.
- Support clinical staff and transplant coordinators through advanced training, orientation, and continuing education.
- Ensure compliance with UNOS and CMS guidelines, integrating best practices into educational materials.
- Work closely with outpatient transplant teams and provide support for transplant ICU operations.
- Report to leadership and participate in a structured, multi-day training program.
Qualifications
Must-Haves:
- Active RN Texas License or Multi-State Compact RN License (No stipulations or disciplinary actions).
- Master’s Degree (Education preferred).
- 5+ years of acute care nursing experience.
- 2+ years of experience as a Kidney Transplant Coordinator (must have kidney transplant experience, not negotiable).
- 1+ year of supervisory experience in a clinical or educational setting.
- A proven track record of stable work history (no job hopping without explanation).
Nice-To-Haves:
- Experience with Epic EMR, UNOS, and CMS guidelines.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Certification as a Transplant Coordinator is a plus.
