A Senior Accountant is a mid-level accounting professional responsible for overseeing a company's financial reporting, ensuring accuracy of financial records, performing complex financial analysis, managing accounting processes, and often supervising junior staff, while ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations; key duties include preparing financial statements, reconciling accounts, analyzing financial data, budget preparation, internal control monitoring, and assisting with external audits.

Senior Accountant 

Our TorontoJobs.ca Recruiting Division client, a CPA firm located in North York, is searching for a Senior Accountant for their firm.

Responsibilities

• Direct communication with clients to resolve accounting and tax issues
• Responsible to compile and produce financial statements
• Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures
• Prepare corporate tax returns for a number of investment companies
• Preparation of Notice-to-Readers
• Assurance work
• Supervising staff

Job Requirements:

• CPA Designation
• 3+ years of Canadian public accounting experience
• Strong accounting experience
• Strong corporate tax knowledge is a must
• Well organized with ability to prioritize
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong client service skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong teamwork skills
• Experience with: TaxPrep, CaseWare, Caseview

Qualifications

CPA Required. Public Accounting Experience at least 3-5 plus years.

Needs someone from a small to medium-sized CPA firm. Not someone from a big 4 like Deloitte, KPMG, Ernst and Young or PWC unless they are in the small business or private enterprise department.
