Job Description
An Applications/Sales Engineer is a technical sales professional who deeply understands a company's products and applications, utilizing their expertise to identify customer needs, present solutions, and close deals by providing technical support, product demonstrations, and customized application design to ensure the product aligns perfectly with the customer's requirements; effectively bridging the gap between technical capabilities and sales strategies.
Applications / Sales Engineer
• Work with customers to select, specify and qualify products to customer and industry specifications within industrial, commercial, university research, construction, manufacturing, gas exploration, biotech, power, and chemical/petrochemical industries.
• Write, edit, and review/approve documentation to support design changes with the ability to work from general instructions, shop or CAD drawings, fluid system schematics, P&IDs, blueprints, or diagrams.
• Interface with sales team, to provide technical support as needed, including quotes and orders. Will involve customer site activities within company territory.
• Actively engage with continuous improvement education/training and professional/personal development in alignment with company programs. Use technology to streamline and improve work processes.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in chemical, mechanical, or related engineering discipline is required.
• 2+ years experience in fabricating, assembly, or manufacturing is preferred.
• SolidWorks experience is a must with ability to create drawings for approval, exchange files, and other advanced skills.
• Skilled in interpreting and understanding customer applications in order to develop P&ID and fluid schematics.
• Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities, work in a dynamic team environment, and use a variety of systems and quality processes to manage complex and changing requirements.
*Must be able to pass background checks and drug testing onsite as required by customers on customer visits.
