Job Description
A Cardiac Electrophysiology (EP) Technologist assists cardiologists in diagnosing and treating heart rhythm problems (arrhythmias) and other heart conditions. They operate and maintain specialized electrophysiology equipment, prepare patients for procedures, and monitor patients during cardiac procedures like ablation, angiography, and angioplasty. EP techs also interpret electrocardiograms (EKGs) and other data to identify heart problems.
Cardiac Electrophysiology Tech
Assists physicians in diagnosing and treating cardiac and peripheral vascular disease and cardiac arrhythmias in the Cath/EP Lab. Specializes in the care of patients undergoing PTCA, stent placement, IABP placement and EP devices and ablations.
Qualifications
- Graduate of CCAHEP accredited program
- 2 years of Electronophysiology experience with knowledge of EP and Abalation devices required ( Would Consider candidates that dont have acute care experience but it is strongly preferred)
- BLS and ACLS required
- Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES), or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist, or Cardiovascular Technologist (CV Tech), or Registered Radiographer (ARRT)
